Louisiana Purple Iris

Availability: Available for pickup at our Broussard garden center.

The Louisiana Purple Iris (Iris fulva) is a striking native wildflower celebrated as Louisiana's official state flower. This hardy perennial thrives in hardiness zones 4-9 and reaches 24-36 inches tall with a 18-24 inch spread. Its distinctive purple blooms add vibrant color to landscapes from spring through early summer. Exceptionally adaptable, this iris excels in wet or boggy soils where many plants struggle, making it ideal for rain gardens, pond edges, and low-lying areas. It performs well in full sun to part shade conditions. A resilient choice for native plant gardens and water-wise landscaping projects.
