Native orange milkweed, also known as Asclepias tuberosa or butterfly weed, is a striking perennial plant native to North America. It is a member of the milkweed family and is named for its bright orange flowers that attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Native orange milkweed typically grows to a height of 1-2 feet and a width of 1-1.5 feet, with a clump-forming growth habit. It is well-suited for USDA hardiness zones 4-9 and thrives in full sun and well-draining soil. Native orange milkweed is a host plant for monarch butterflies and provides essential food and habitat for these important pollinators.
