Petra Croton

Availability: Available for pickup at our Broussard garden center.

Petra croton is grown for the leaves. They are thick and painted with yellow, orange, and red veins on green. Color stays strong in bright light and fades in a dark room. Use it as a houseplant, on a porch, or in the yard only where freeze is rare. A cold night will burn it.

Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Drafts and a dry pot make it drop leaves.

🌎 Zones: 10–11 outdoors; indoor or porch plant here.
☀️ Sunlight: Bright light to morning sun. Low light washes out the color.
💧 Soil & Care: Well-drained potting mix. Water when the top inch is dry. Bring it in before a freeze.
🌿 Habit: Colorful evergreen foliage. Tender in cold.
