Confederate Rose

Availability: Available for pickup at our Broussard garden center.

Confederate rose is a hibiscus, not a true rose. The flowers are large and open pale, then deepen to pink and rose through the day. It can get tall in one season. A freeze knocks it to the ground here. It usually comes back from the base in spring.

Give it full sun and soil that drains. Water the first year. Cut the old stems after it breaks dormancy.

🌎 Zones: 7–10. Dies to the ground in a hard freeze and returns.
☀️ Sunlight: Full sun.
💧 Soil & Care: Well-drained soil. Water during dry stretches the first year.
🌸 Blooms: Large flowers that open white and deepen to pink. Late summer into fall.
