Super Hass (U La La) Avocado

Super Hass, also sold as U La La or Ooh La La, is a Hass-type avocado with dark skin and rich, creamy flesh. The fruit peels cleanly and eats like the grocery-store Hass people already know. The tree is a Type A bloomer and is a bit more cold-tolerant than a standard Hass, but a hard freeze in Broussard can still damage it. Plant it in a protected spot or keep it in a pot you can cover.

Give it full sun and soil that drains. Avocados rot in standing water. Water deeply, then let the top of the soil dry before you water again. Fruit usually comes in the cool months once the tree is old enough to bear.

🌎 Zones: 9–11 outdoors; protect below the mid-20s.
☀️ Sunlight: Full sun.
💧 Soil & Care: Plant in well-drained soil. Do not let the root ball sit wet. Water when the top few inches are dry.
🥑 Fruit: Dark-skinned, pear-shaped avocados with buttery, nutty flesh. Type A flower.
