Teddy Bear Magnolia

Availability: Available for pickup at our Broussard garden center.

Teddy Bear is a compact Southern magnolia. The leaves are glossy green on top and rusty brown underneath, packed tight on the plant, so it reads as a dense evergreen instead of a giant shade tree. Large white flowers open in summer and smell like a classic magnolia.

It wants full sun and soil that drains. Water it through the first couple of years. This is still a magnolia, not a foundation shrub you can tuck under a window — give it room to become a small tree.

🌎 Zones: 7–9.
☀️ Sunlight: Full sun.
💧 Soil & Care: Plant in well-drained soil. Water during dry stretches the first two summers. Do not plant it in a soggy bed.
🌸 Blooms: Large white flowers in summer. Evergreen foliage year-round with brown undersides.
