La Peche Peach

Availability: Available for pickup at our Broussard garden center.

The La Pêche Peach (Prunus persica 'La Pêche') is a versatile cultivar developed by LSU AgCenter, reaching 10–15 feet in height and width. This self-fertile variety thrives in full sun within USDA zones 8–9, requiring 300–400 chill hours below 45°F for optimal production. Medium to large fruits feature distinctive red, fuzzy skin with golden flesh, delivering exceptional sweetness and juiciness suitable for fresh eating and culinary applications. Early to mid-summer ripening (June–July) provides reliable harvests, while moderate disease resistance supports consistent performance. Cross-pollination with compatible varieties can further improve fruit set and yield.
