The Orient Pear is a vigorous, semi-dwarf variety prized for its large, golden-russet fruit and exceptional cold hardiness. This cultivar produces sweet, juicy pears with a smooth texture and excellent flavor profile, making it ideal for fresh eating and culinary applications. Orient Pear requires cross-pollination with a compatible pear variety—such as Bartlett, Bosc, or Seckel—to set fruit reliably. Plant at least two different pear varieties within 50 feet of one another to ensure adequate pollinator activity and maximize your harvest potential.
