Calendula, also called pot marigold, has orange and gold daisy-like flowers. It is a cool-season annual here. Petals are edible and are used in tea and salves. It wants sun and soil that drains. Heat and a wet bed shut it down.
Water until it is settled. Deadhead if you want more flowers. Plant it for fall and spring color, not the middle of summer.
🌎 Zones: Cool-season annual in south Louisiana. ☀️ Sunlight: Full sun. 💧 Soil & Care: Well-drained soil. Water during establishment. Pull it when summer heat finishes it. 🌸 Blooms: Orange and gold. Fall through spring.
