The Alabama azalea is a deciduous native with white, lemon-scented flowers in spring. The blooms often have a yellow blotch. It stays smaller than the big evergreen azaleas and fits a woodland edge or a partly shaded bed.
Give it morning sun or dappled shade and acid soil that drains. Water the first year. It drops its leaves in winter.
