Black Mission Fig

Availability: Available for pickup at our Broussard garden center.

Figs are a South Louisiana backyard tradition. Plant in full sun in soil that drains, water regularly while the tree gets settled, and mulch the shallow roots. Figs fruit in summer and need little pruning.

Come see it at Cane Row Nursery, 1500 S Bernard Rd in Broussard. Our staff is happy to help you pick the right spot for it in your South Louisiana yard.

This heirloom variety produces medium to large, pear-formed fruits with a distinctive purplish-black exterior and vibrant strawberry-hued interior flesh that delivers exceptional sweetness. The tree yields two harvests annually, making it a reliable producer for both fresh consumption and culinary applications.
