Flor de Jamaica is roselle, the hibiscus used for tea. The part you harvest is the red calyx after the flower drops, not the bloom itself. It is a warm-season plant here. A freeze finishes it. Give it full sun and a long summer so the calyces have time to form.
Plant it in soil that drains. Water when the top inch is dry. Harvest the fleshy red cups once they are plump, before they get woody.
🌎 Zones: Warm-season annual here. Perennial only in frost-free spots.
☀️ Sunlight: Full sun.
💧 Soil & Care: Well-drained soil. Water when the top inch is dry.
🌸 Harvest: Red calyces for tea after the flowers drop. Late summer into fall.
