Vanilla Bean Plant

Vanilla bean is a tropical orchid vine. The stems climb if you give them a stake or a slab. Leaves are thick and glossy. Beans only form after the plant is mature, flowers, and is pollinated — that is not a first-year houseplant project. Grow it for the vine and the chance of bloom in a bright, humid spot.

Keep it out of a freeze. Bright indirect light, even moisture, and something to climb. Do not let the pot stay soggy.
